We develop sensor hardware, firmware and cloud platform as an integrated system. Our focus is on energy-autonomous sensors and ultra-low power consumption – for applications that need to operate maintenance-free for years.
All bluSensor products are built on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) as core technology. This enables extremely low-power communication, flexible deployment scenarios and direct connectivity to any BLE-capable device – from smartphones and tablets to notebooks and web browsers.
Bluetooth Low Energy is the basis of all our sensors. As an official member of the Bluetooth SIG, we build on a proven, globally standardised wireless standard. Thanks to BLE, our sensors are compatible with all common devices – iPhone, Android, tablets, PCs or even directly in the browser via Web Bluetooth.
Our ISO 27001-compliant cloud infrastructure enables central management of any number of sensors. All data is securely stored in the EU – with real-time dashboards, alerting and API access.
We exclusively use sensor chips from quality manufacturers and focus on low long-term drift, high accuracy and long lifespan – for reliable measurements over years.
We work closely with sensor chip manufacturers and research institutes worldwide to develop new innovative sensor products.
The low energy demand of BLE opens new possibilities: power supply via solar, RF or other sources – for battery-free continuous operation.
Encrypted flash storage, unique device certificates and a secure bootloader protect firmware and data on every sensor. Over-the-air updates enable secure field upgrades.
We design and manufacture our sensor hardware in-house – in Austria and with selected partners across Europe. From circuit development and PCB design to final assembly, we maintain full control over quality and supply chain.
bluSensor participates in research projects that bring our core technologies into new fields of application.
In this research project with NKE Austria, an intelligent bearing was developed that measures temperature directly during operation. A sensor developed by project partner LCM harvests energy from the bearing's rotation and transmits measurement data via Bluetooth Low Energy. bluSensor integrated this smart bearing into its IoT platform – enabling real-time monitoring and alerting via the cloud.
The SmartWin project developed a novel smart window platform that goes far beyond conventional solar shading control. The system integrates environmental sensors, energy harvesting and building connectivity directly into the window – for energy-autonomous operation without external power supply.
With the Shake-It project we demonstrated how bluSensor technology can be integrated into entirely new product categories. A sensor module was built into a sand-filled dumbbell that captures motion data in real time and transmits it via Bluetooth to an app – for automatic repetition tracking and workout analysis.
